“I don’t think any of use are normal people.” —Wes Anderson
I had a blast putting together this Wes Anderson inspired wedding shoot with two of the coolest cats around!!!! You know it’s gonna be good, too, when the bride says “I may not have my legs shaved, it’s kind of a feminist thing.”
YES!
Rebecca is also a incredibly talented fiber artist who makes quilts and we used one of her works straight on the tablescape.
I had another indoor location in mind for this shoot, since March can bring such unpredictable weather. So when I phoned and asked Prosek’s Greenhouse if they would mind if we poked around and did an impromptu wedding shoot at their location since the weather was so nice, I was stoked when they said ‘no problem.’
What I really wanted to showcase with this shoot was something off the beaten path, that was planned around the people, their style, attitude, and charisma. As a ‘lifestyle’ photographer the most important thing at the end of the shoot is whether I captured something more than just an image. Did I tell a story? And did I tell it with the person’s spirit?
When thinking about your wedding, make sure it’s all about you. That may mean it’s not on a trend, but based around styles you like, colors you dream and people you love!
