These two high school sweethearts were a joy to capture. Kyle and Nicole, Congratulations! Even with the rain you never stopped being bright on your day! I just loved watching a ballerina rock her moves all day long!
How it Began:
We met at a football game at Wheaton Warrenville South sophomore year. Kyle had a crush on me for almost a year before he asked me out! He proposed nine years later in the same park where he asked me out when we were sixteen. Our first actual “date” was going to see How to Train Your Dragon…with my dad and my brother. They sat in a different row lol.
Where did you find inspiration?:
It was spring-inspired, which didn’t happen but like whatever. Neither of us are into over-the-top, glitzy things. We wanted as eco-friendly of a wedding as possible! A simple, cozy, rustic vibe was perfect for us – nothing to distract from the most important things.
Would you recommend a first look?:
Yes, definitely! Think of something to say before you turn your partner around though, because Nicole said something like “Well, well, well, I’ve been expecting you” because she panicked.
Best investment you made in the wedding?:
Photo and video! **lol not even being facetious** Those memories, and the experience of the people capturing them, are so worth it. **Awesome video captures by @Datflipmelphotosfilms **
What helped you plan the big day?:
Nicole: Recommendations from friends, doing internet research to figure out how expensive things should run, doing things that were too expensive myself (i.e. making a seating chart — don’t feel like you /have/ to buy everything!), not sweating the small stuff.
Kyle: Alcohol
What are you looking forward to most about being married?:
Getting to actually call each other “husband” and “wife”! Instead of like “Um, can my boyfriend come with?” now I get to say “May my husband accompany us?”
Best Advice?:
Don’t worry about “post-wedding blues”. Enjoy the day! It’s an awesome day, but all in all it’s just a party. Friends and family will all come together many more times in the future. The marriage part is the best part and that lasts forever!
